special Association-wide meeting to be held via Zoom on: Monday, May 11 at 7:00 PM

Zoom Meeting.

Dear Pastors and Church Leaders,

On behalf of the Western Association of Baptist Churches, we are writing to invite you to a special Association-wide meeting to be held via Zoom on:

Monday, May 11 at 7:00 PM

This gathering is being called to share and discuss a significant proposal regarding the future direction and structure of our Association. We believe this is an important moment that requires prayerful consideration, open conversation, and collective discernment.

The motion to be presented for discussion is as follows:

Proposed Motion:

That the Western Association will suspend all its activities, Committees (with the exception of the Ministerial Committee and existing budgeted financial commitments,) and positions for a period of two years.

During this time, a Transition Team will be appointed. The task of this team will be to develop and initiate activities that promote Association fellowship, renewal, and the equipping of our churches.

As these efforts take shape, the Transition Team will also be responsible to draft a new constitution that reflects a renewed vision and expression of Association life. This proposed constitution will be brought back to the churches for review and vote no sooner than the year 2029.

We recognize the weight and significance of this proposal. Our hope is that this meeting will create space for thoughtful dialogue, shared insight, and a renewed sense of unity as we consider what God may be leading us into next.

A Zoom link and supporting materials will be sent to you in advance of the meeting.

We encourage each church to ensure representation, and we ask that you would be in prayer as we approach this important conversation.

If you have any initial questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to association email westernassocbc@gmail.com or by phone: 519-733-4144.

With gratitude for your partnership in the Gospel,

Rev. David Page, Moderator.
